Last night in Washington DC was the Nerd Prom, aka The White House Correspondents' Dinner. Some of the most influential celebrities, news reporters, politicians attended, including Reality Queen, Kim Kardashian. Kim kept it demure and elegant in a forest green, floor length velvet gown by Johanna Johnson. A lot of people don't like velvet, but I love it! I think it is so sexy and romantic... Not to mention super flattering. This is the perfect dress for this occasion.

If this is a hint of what Johanna Johnson has in store for her MBFWA collection, I'm incredibly excited!

Ahead of their SS2012/13 ready-to-wear and swimwear collections, The Fashion Patriot wanted to get to know the brains behind one of Australia's leading swimwear and beach-wear labels, Suboo. Sue Di Chio launched the label in 2007 when she couldn't find a fashionable beach umbrella. 5 years on Suboo has expanded to include a amazing range of kaftans, dresses, cover-ups, beach umbrellas and accessories which include footwear, bags and jewellery.  Suboo is now stocked in over 100 exclusive boutiques throughout Australia!

The CinemaCon Awards were held last night at Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas. Hollywood's hottest new mum, Charlize Theron was in attendance and was honoured with Distinguished Decade in Film Award. The South African native looked smoking in a black, Dion Lee dress and Giuseppe Zanotti heels.

I loved the floor length version of this dress on Rachael Taylor at the AACTA awards, and I think the shorter length is absolutely fab on Charlize and perfectly appropriate for the event. I seriously believe you cannot go wrong in Dion Lee!

I am obsessed with those orange heels - they're absolutely killer!

Nicki Minaj is currently in London for her World tour... The Moment 4 Life singer/rapper never ceases to amaze me with her loud outfit choices. Over the weekend Ms Minaj was spotted leaving her hotel in London in a neon look by Romance Was Born. What a cool way to mark the beginning of Fashion Week!
