Australia's retail giant, David Jones has announced plans to add an extra 60 brands into its stores in an effort to boost sales. At the beginning of this month, David Jones reported record lapse in sales and cut its profit forecast by 20% for the second half of this year.
International designers such as Lanvin, Dries Van Noten, Hugo Boss Women, Hackett London, Gucci jewellery, YSL jewellery, Victoria Beckham, Lucy in Disguise by Lilly Allen and Kardashian Kollection are all said to be hitting the shelves. As well as local talents like Carl Kapp, Therese Rawsthorne, Lover and Bassike.
The revamp has been planned to coincide with DJs' Spring/Summer launch on August 3, which will also mark the return of the David Jones Ambassador, Miranda Kerr.
I am so excited about these plans! I love that they're making room for some of my Aussie favourites! I feel the key to keeping the Australian fashion industry alive is innovation, constantly finding ways for consumers to get excited and celebrating all facets of the industry!
