Aurelio Costarella's night at the Brownlow Medal

AFL's night of nights took place on Monday night in Melbourne's Crown Towers, and Perth designer, Aurelio Costarella's designs ruled the blue carpet.

Rebecca Judd (aka "Queen of the WAGs") looked frightfully skinny for someone who has recently given birth in a gold figure-hugging gown.

The very loud, Brynne Edelsten seemed to tone it down this year (just a little) in a beaded and lace number.

Now the Dally M's and the Brownlow Medal have both taken place, I can officially declare NRL WAGs to be the better dressed of the two codes... I just hope next year we don't see an overload of J'Aton, it's getting booooooring!

Duchess of Cambridge herself, Kate Middleton was spotted out over the weekend at a friend's wedding in a stunning red lace Collette Dinnigan dress.

I love, love, love this look! It's a bit of a departure from what we're used to seeing the future Queen wear, which usually consists of nude tones or navy... She looks gorgeous!

Disney star, Debby Ryan donned a beautiful 50s-inspired dress by Collette Dinnigan to the Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party in LA on Friday.

It's hard to believe she's only 18! She looks so sophisticated and chic. The red lips and bag are perfection!

Jennifer Lopez flaunted her curves in a figure-hugging camilla & marc halter dress in Las Vegas over the weekend. I'm loving the hint of pink! She looks fab.

Mad Men star, Christina Hendricks wore an amazing vintage gown down the red carpet at the Emmy Awards last night. Sydney-based Johanna Johnson is the designer behind the embellished, silk-satin figure hugging dress.

The dress apparently weighs an incredible 8kg and was a custom design gifted to the actor from Johanna herself, because she is a huge fan of Hendrick's poise and sense of Hollywood glamour.

Stunning.

sass & bide at London Fashion Week!

Preceding this collection I was beginning to think sass & bide were in a bit of a funk, just because each collection preceding had similar silhouettes, textures and aesthetic. I was so eager to see them do something different. Their Spring 2012 collection shown at London Fashion Week was just that... different, and refreshingly different.  Heidi Middleton concurs and stated, "there was a lot of newness in the silhouettes and the colors."

The collection was dominated by silver sequins, polka dots, bright silks, metallic leather, and a splash of their tribal beading... this may all sound like a lot to handle within one collection but the execution was perfection and the result, minimalist.

My 5 Spring/Summer Must-Haves!

1. A White Dress - white is my favourite colour for spring/summer... it is so fresh and chic. This bec & bridge dress is perfection. The deep v-neck with gold detail has a fun 70s vibe... paired with a great nude or gold heel this white dress is my go-to party look for summer!

2. Tailored Orange Shorts - this season we are seeing a lot more bright colours being used, one of my favourites has to be orange.... it is definitely the new red. I am obsessed with shorts, they are a great alternative to a skirt and when worn properly shorts have so much attitude. These sass & bide shorts are amazing. Suede is usually thought to be a AW fabric, but in orange they are perfect for summer. These shorts with a cream blouse and a killer heel, is sure to create the perfect balance between femininity and masculinity.

3. Sapphire Blue anything - I am seriously OBSESSED with sapphire blue at the moment, when I got back from NY I realised most of the pieces I bought were in sapphire blue. My favourite though is the perfect sapphire blue shoe! I cannot wait to pair mine with a pair of orange shorts and a cream blouse. Peeptoe has come up with the perfect sandal, AND it comes in the perfect sapphire blue hue... I love it!

4. A LMD - a little metallic dress is essential this summer... it is so essential in fact that I think it has made the LBD obsolete this season. It is an easy-to-wear, versatile piece that you can just throw on last minute for a night out, or for Sunday afternoon cocktails. This camilla & marc dress is the perfect example of the perfect LMD. It is simple and lets the fabric and cut do all the talking.

5. Fluro Nails - one of my favourite things to do while I'm in NY is visit the 24-hour nail salon... there is just something really exciting about being up at 2AM and being able to go and get your nails done, especially in summer when it's really fun to experiment with bright, loud colours. I discovered the colour, Capri by Essie... it is a fiery orange. I bought a bottle home with me and it's seriously going to be on my nails 24/7 this summer!

Tommy Ton for Oroton

One of my favourite bloggers, Tommy Ton, who is responsible for the blog Jak & Jill was asked to shoot the most recent campaign for Australian accessories company, Oroton. The result is pretty flawless and unique in the way that all shots seem candid and un-choreographed, which I love. It's a fabulously fashion-forward approach, and I'm so glad Oroton has gone with something a little more innovative, compared to their usual conservative approach. The campaign was styled by the amazingly talented Taylor Tomasi-Hill.
